‘Fortnite’ is Now Available for All Android Devices – TouchArcade

When Fortnite (Free) launched on iOS a while ago, it was initially invite only and we had a ton of fun (it wasn’t fun) with invites and spam across the board for people with fake invites and the likes. The Android launch and Android version is not on Google Play and won’t be. Tim Sweeney from Epic Games spoke to Eli about that. Originally a closed beta that was invite only, Fortnite is now available for all Android users with a compatible device. Watch the Android trailer below:

Fortnite is (still) the biggest thing on the planet right now in the world of gaming, so much so that even Hurricane Michael bearing down on the Epic offices in North Carolina isn’t stopping them from major releases. Previously, Fortnite was restricted to a few devices from Samsung, which we’ve suspected is half a promotional deal and half an opportunity for Epic to test the game on Android as even an unoptimized game will run well on high end hardware. The recommended specs are … oddly way more broad than I was expecting:

  • OS: Recommended Android 8.0 or higher, 64 bit
  • RAM: Recommended 4GB or higher
  • GPU: Adreno 530 or higher, Mali-G71 MP20, Mali-G72 MP12 or higher

More information can be found on what is and isn’t supported here. If you’re planning on getting in now, make sure to join our Discord channel here to squad up and get some Victory Royales and find more like minded folk. If you play only on Nintendo Switch, you can now play with PS4 gamers as well thanks to Sony waking up.
